Clara's Thanksgiving Feast

Clara's class at school had a Thanksgiving lunch the Friday before Thanksgiving. Clara got to go to school that day for lunch and she brought sugar cookies to share with the class. I forgot to get pictures of them, but let's just say I feel like an official mom of a school-aged child. I made them from my great-aunt's tea cake recipe which is yum-my. They were in the shape of pumpkins and I added another cookie on top with each child's initial. Of course, I would go and pass out the first cookie and realize a minute later that I gave her the wrong letter. D'oh! In my defense, someone was asking me a question as I handed out the cookie and my brain just doesn't register two things at once. I got to the last one and we tried to fashion an 'L' out of an 'M'. Oh well, they tasted good no matter what letter was on top.

The moms that were in charge of decorating did a wonderful job. The tables were beautifully decorated with tablecloths and centerpieces and the kids dined on turkey, croissants, grapes, cheese cubes, carrots and apples. When Clara sat at her spot and saw carrots on her plate, she informed one of the moms that she was allergic to carrots and then suddenly half the class was allergic as well.

The kids drew pictures of what they were thankful for. Clara was thankful for Mommy and the sun. I'm thankful for my sweet little preschooler and for the wonderful year she's having at school.
