Yesterday was my birthday and upon waking Clara asked where my birthday was. I finally figured out she wanted to know where the cake was. She's all about the birthday cake. I told her I'm not supposed to get my own cake and asked if she made me one. She said "No, Daddy get one for you after work. And flowers."
Well, I didn't get cake (much to Clara's disappointment), but I did get some lovely flowers and a surprise dinner date to Kobe. Kobe is my favorite and we hadn't been in a long time. Chris had invited Glenn and Becky to join us. Not only did Clara not get cake, but she didn't like Kobe and spent a good deal of time in our laps. Today I overheard her telling Samantha about the "scary fire on the table" and how she cried.
The big surprise came today when my birthday present arrived in the mail. Chris got me a little laptop! I've missed being able to sit on the couch with a laptop, so I'm psyched. The funny thing is, Chris had been thinking about getting me one and he asked Clara what Mommy likes and she said computer, so she helped seal the deal. I'm a lucky girl. An old and lucky girl :)

Oh, goody! Now I know we'll be seeing waaaay more posts on your blog! It'll be so easy and fun ;-)
Glad you were happy with Chris' gift. I'm happy for you, too.
Old? Come on, I was 31 before you and I am NOT OLD!
Happy Birthday Dear Cousin!
Enjoy your new snazzy computer too-
OLD? I am old, I will 34 this month, your brother will be 35. Happy belated birthday, again.
You're birthday is the same day as Elena's! It's so hard to get kids to understand the whole birthday thing. We had her party last Saturday, so when everyone was saying Happy birthday on Monday, she was very confused and was sure there should be cake somewhere! I'm glad you had a great day!
