Cool Chick

Saturday we went to a picnic at a park for Chris' company. It was beautiful outside and was nice to get back out in the real world since Clara and I have been stuck inside all week. I haven't wanted to take her around anyone for fear of spreading the dreaded pink eye.

We were having fun until Clara tripped on the sidewalk, twice. She skinned up her knee quite a bit. It was swollen around the scrapes and her whole kneecap was red, so I know she was hurting.

There was a party next to us that had rented an inflatable jump house and I only had to chase Clara down and bring her back kicking and screaming to our jump house-less party about 5 times. It was at that point that Daddy took over the whiney, hurting toddler duty. She of course stands next to Daddy like an angel for a good half hour watching the guys play bocce ball. What is with that? It really irritates me that she's so good for him and a whiney little ball of fun with her Mommy. Am I that terribly annoying that people just can't stand to be around me? Come on, you can tell me.

Chris has had to work a lot this weekend, so that was the extent of our weekend happenings. That and church followed by lunch after church with a bratty kid who wouldn't stop screaming. Can you believe those parents that just let their kid scream in a restaurant? That's just the worst! You just want to tell them to do something about their little brat and commend them on their stellar parenting skills. Well, I did just that. I turned to Chris and said "What is wrong with YOUR kid?!?"

Matching tennies and shades . . . cute! Sorry she was a fussbudget. Some days are just like that. I think she's needing a hug from Grandma.
