Clara's First Antibiotic. Sigh.

After 22 months, Clara has her first infection requiring antibiotics. Not too bad, I guess.

She's got pink eye. She had a couple of big 'ol gunky eye boogers last night. When she woke this morning, her eyes weren't too bad, but after her nap they were pretty nasty. We called the doc and she called in a prescription for us so she'll be good to go in no time. I appreciated not having to go wait in a doctor's office with my whiney child.

In other news, my dad continues to do well and is home resting now. He goes back to San Angelo in two weeks and then can go back to work if all looks good. My grandpa had his third heart procedure done in as many weeks today. He had a third stent put in and will probably go home tomorrow. He's undergoing chemo right now, so that has put a kink in the heart stuff since he's suffering the effects of the chemo. My uncle had a really bad accident back in August in which the vehicle he was working under fell on his arm and leg and drug him 60 feet down his dirt driveway. He spent some time in the hospital and then at home with a wound vac and is now able to walk around some with the use of a walker and will undergo skin grafts here in a couple of weeks. And my great aunt, who is in a nursing home, is now down to less than 70 pounds. She was hospitalized several weeks ago for dehydration and spent awhile in the hospital before being returned to the home. She knows family sometimes, sometimes not, but her heart is still going strong. Oh, and my cousin ended up in the hospital for around a week back in August with perforated diverticulitis that will require surgery.

And that's only right now. Two years ago, my cousin was in a terrible car accident and we didn't think he would make it. Thankfully he's still with us after having been in a drug induced coma for awhile, having a piece of skull removed and then reinserted and then rejected by his body. And another cousin was in a very bad motorcycle accident that landed him in the hospital around the same time. Oh and I almost forgot, another cousin's wife got a fish hook in the head when she was like, 9 months pregnant. That was a close one :)

This is all on one side of the family! I would like to request that all family members remain indoors. Stay away from windows and electrical outlets. Throw out your milk and meat a minimum of two days before it's expiration date, just to be safe. Sell your motorcycles. Go get your tetanus shot if it's been awhile and whatever you do, do NOT blow dry your hair while you're in the bathtub.

Hope Clara's eyes clear up real soon, and that it doesn't spread to you and Chris.

Kelsey, what a catalog of ailments, illnesses and accidents! I think it's time your family gets a little break from all of that! Good to see you have a sense of humor about it, though. I'm still chuckling over your last paragraph.

Yeah, I guess I shouldn't have such a good sense of humor about it. You notice, my name wasn't on that list.

Yeah how funny. I fish hook a week before I had Clayton. Ya know, I was originally due 2 days before that. You would think the ride to the hospital would have caused labor (lots and lots of bumps, Clint was a little worried about me), but nope I was a week late!

I meant two days afterwards!

I am so sorry that Clara got the pink eye, I was really praying she would not. Shame on Wyatt and his mommy (jk).
