A few weekends ago, Clara had her first sleepover. She had been waiting for this night for a very long time. We have a chore chart for her and she has to earn a certain number of stars to watch a movie on Friday nights and then once she earned a massive amount of stars, she got to pick her reward, which just so happened to be a sleepover with Leah. She actually earned it a month or so prior but it took a while to find a date that worked for everyone. To say she was giddy with excitement when the day finally arrived would be an understatement.
We picked Leah up and the fun began right away when she presented Clara with a slew of Tinkerbell silly bands. We hit up Micheals for a crafty thing to do and they chose the shrinky dink jewelry making set, which was a huge hit. Here they are watching their creations shrink up.
And the end result? Lots and lots of lovely jewelry.
Robert and Clara had been playing with this box all week and Leah and Clara decided to make it a girls only clubhouse. I love the "boys" and "Robert" with x's through them. I don't think Clara knew she wasn't supposed to like boys until this sleepover. Ha! I'm guessing the drawing of lips with the words "kiss" and "yum" is from Clara's older, more sophisticated friend as well :)
They got to eat cookies and watch a movie and then actually slept downstairs. I was surprised they wanted to. I thought they'd be scared to be down there by themselves, but they did fine. I told them they could read a book or two and then needed to go to sleep and I would be down to check on them. I then went upstairs and accidentally fell asleep. Woops. When I came downstairs around 10:30, they were sound asleep.
There was tummy bug making its way through Leah's family, so we decided to keep her for another day hoping she could avoid the bug. For the life of me, I don't remember what we did on Saturday. I think we got donuts for breakfast. Oh, and we went to the bookstore. Leah came to church with us on Sunday and she and Clara got to be twins for the day. Pei Wei and Tutti Frutti for lunch and then Leah had to say goodbye. Clara's already ready for the next sleepover!
