Progress??

We tried out that potty training thing again today. Clara ran around bare-bottomed all day. Two and a half times she peed on the potty, always when I wasn't around. I think I may be distracting to her or something.

I let her watch cartoons while sitting on the potty and we took it from room to room all day. I had run upstairs to switch laundry at one point and upon my return to the living room, I saw a few drops in the potty. I began looking around for the rest of it and she took me into the playroom and pointed to a little puddle on the floor. I'm assuming she started to go and then remembered she needed to go on the potty and then finished up on the potty, but I'm not sure since I was out of the room. For all I know, Dingle decided she should try out the potty.

We put on a pull up at naptime and she woke dry, which really surprised me. I went downstairs after her nap to get her potty and it was full from before naptime. Oops. Again, peeing behind my back. And then a third time she peed on the potty when I was out of the room. I guess the girl needs her privacy. I understand.

I think I'll stick with the nudist approach for a few days and see what comes of it. One would think the sensation of pee trickling down ones legs would serve as a good motivator for using the potty, but we shall see.

I really enjoy reading your blog and felt it was time to comment! I'm a friend of Chris' from the Newberg c of C days. I also graduated from ACU. I think we might have met once, but I can't be for certain. My mom recently found Linda's blog and that's what brought me to yours! I really enjoy reading about your little family and it's funny to see that Chris hasn't changed a bit!

Anyway, my comment is about potty training. I used the 2 day/$55 approach both times. They call it that because you have the child run around naked for 2 days then you use the $55 to have your carpets (or wood floors) cleaned! It worked great for me!

Tell Chris hello for me ;-)

Not meaning to turn this into a chat room, but I just have to say "hi" to Annette. Hi Annette!

I've seen pix of your little ones. What cuties!

It was fun for me getting in touch with your mom again. And, by the way, do you know who the commenter (above) "Nana in the north" is? Well, I won't give her name here, but she's Nick and Lindsay's mom :-)

Nice to hear from you.

OK...I am calling for equal time!!

Hi Annette and Genie!! Do you know who this "Nana in the north" is? I am trying to remember but I think that maybe Nick is a little younger than you. He turns 28 yrs in another week or so. I have enjoyed reading a few comments from your mom on here and I LOVED reading your potty training idea, Annette!! Too funny! Well, I guess that's easy for me to say!

Kelsey, THANKS for letting us say hello on your blogspot. I guess never gave you much of a choice ;)

Face it girl!! We LOVE reading your blog humor and seeing the pics of your little one and pics of your husband who grew up with our families, and about what great parents you all are!!

So let's talk "shoes & feet" for a minute. Kayla (Lindsay's) was at the high end of the growth charts but she wasn't chubby. But..she had wide (chubby on the top ofher feet) feet for a while and had to have wide shoes (Stride Rite) if they were Mary Janes. I had some cute shoes I had bought ahead of time like from Nordstrom Rack that she never even got to wear because her feet bulged out the top.

I never had to wear "saddles" but I remember being envious for a while of a friend who did have to wear them...only for a while!! And I have never even hear of that x-ray thing!! Maybe I was neglected growing up...yup..that's it.

Thanks again, Kelsey, and excuse me for now...I want to go on Linda's blog and ask her just a couple of questions about her...well..her feet.

I started Friday, trying to potty train Wyatt. Have not wrote about it in my blog, playing catch up from Christmas. Needless to say, it did not go over well. I would sit him on the potty, he would get up and go pee in the floor. Will write more very soon, after I finish my holiday posting.

Hello Annette. I'm glad you enjoy my blog. Just so you know, I really am a nice person, honest. I didn't used to be quite as sarcastic as I am currently, but 10 years of marriage to Chris has brought out that side of me. I've had to adapt to keep up with him. I'm sure you understand if you spent any amount of time with the guy.

Actually, I'm really only this rude on my blog. I'm quite shy and introverted in person. No, I'm serious.

Thanks for commenting and I'm glad this potty training approach has worked for others. Gives me hope. I think it's working for us. (fingers crossed)

And Tanya, good luck with that! Maybe having a big brother around will help out.
