Mother's Day

I had a lovely Mother's Day this year. We had lunch at Zio's and then it was back home for a nice nap. I found this sailor dress and matching doll dress on clearance for $13 and I just couldn't resist. I'm quite positive this is the last sailor dress Clara will wear.

That evening we had the DeCarlos over for sandwiches and backyard playtime. We busted out the slip and slide and the kids loved it. There was a cool breeze and the backyard was shaded by this time, so they were all freezing. Their teeth were chattering and bodies were shivering but that didn't stop any of them from playing in the water. We eventually had to turn off the water and dump the pool so they could warm up.

This one's blurry, but I love Robert's expression in this next picture.

None of the kids were able to throw themselves down the slip and slide, so we had to give them a little help.

We once had a party out at our house in Huntsville (all adults mind you) and we had a long piece of plastic sheeting we used as a slip and slide. One of the games was to see who could slide the furthest distance after picking up a corgi halfway down. Ah, good times.
