Clara performed her very first VBS striptease this evening. I'm helping at the registration table, so my busiest time is right before VBS starts. I also have to keep an eye on Clara since VBS hasn't started yet. Clara kept coming up to me asking me to pick her up, I'd tell her not right now and she'd wander off for a bit and then do it all over again.
Someone came up to tell me she had had an accident. Sure enough, I spotted her wandering around with wet shorts. I was going to wait just a few more minutes so I could change her when things calmed down a bit. Before I knew it, someone else was tapping me on the shoulder saying, "Umm, did you see Clara......". I kind of cut her off and told her "Yeah, I'm about to go change her", when I turn around just in time to see Clara standing there, shorts and panties around her ankles. Fun times I tell ya.
The fun didn't stop there, though. I had another outfit and panties to change her into, but she had another accident right after it was over. We had to borrow a pull-up to wear home. I'm pretty sure Clara's going to wear a pull-up to VBS tomorrow. Just a bit too much excitement to expect a girl to take the time to go potty I suppose.

There's no doubt -- the theme of Clara's third year is "The Potty Year!" It's the privilege of a grandma to laugh at these things, even when they aren't always so laughable for Mama and Daddy. So, thanks for sharing them and putting a little joy in my day.
Out of all our 3 kids, we had never really had an accident like that. Until last Friday. I went to Walmart and after a while she got in trouble and had to sit back in the basket. She was crying and couldn't hold it anymore and went potty in the aisle. Luckily it didn't hit our groceries! Then Daniel took them all to get a movie and it took longer than he was expecting. So she went in the aisle there too. I just couldn't believe after 6 years, there was 2 in one day! Surely it will all get better soon!
Wyatt is trying his hand at potty training today. He has already pulled off his diaper twice, pooped and peed on the floor and helped clean it up. I finally put him in underwear and showed him his step up to the potty, and after that he went to the livingroom and peed on a blanket. Oh the joy of potty training.
