Mercer Arboretum

Clara and I just got back from the Mercer Arboretum which is not too far from our house. I have been meaning to drop by and see what it's like for a while now. It has two parts to it separated by a main road. The main area has little paths along which are all kinds of different flowers and trees. There were wooden benches and bench swings all along the path. Off of the main brick path were small, winding paths covered in pebbles. We had to refrain from going down them because the tiny rocks were just way to tempting to sit and play with. And eat. I could have spent hours strolling around. (Without a one year old that was sans stroller that is.) It was shady and serene down the paths and very beautiful. And hot. And humid. I think next time we'll get there when they open at 8:00.

Across the road was picnic areas, playgrounds and lots of nature trails. We need to spend some time on the trails because there are several geocaches along them. Clara and I just spent a little time on the playground this time.

I had my wedding pictures taken there. It's beautiful. I didn't know there was a playground and all that. I'll have to go back sometime!
