Mother's Day

Clara was all over Mother's Day this year. She told me a few days ago that she was sooooo excited and couldn't wait til Mother's Day. She really outdid herself. She made the handprint card at school as well as the rose pen. At home she made a couple more cards and a book all about colors.

Here's the inside of one of the cards. I'm apparently the beast mommy in the world. I love the bad faces. Very realistic.

We went to Jason't Deli after church because this mommy hates crowds. We didn't do much else since Chris just got back from Rome and Tunis last night right at bedtime. He had a long trip home and needed his rest before going back to work tomorrow.

Speaking of Rome and Tunis, here are the kids with the souvenirs Daddy brought back for them. Clara got a beautiful masquerade mask from Rome and an elephant from Tunis.

And Robert got an Italian cap and racing t-shirt as well as an elephant. They hit the jackpot with this big 'ol Kinder egg filled with eggs.  Clara has actually dubbed them Brazil eggs because he used to bring her a couple every time he went to Rio. He lucked out in getting this one. Apparently they don't ship them in the summer and he had a hard time finding it. For those that don't know, kinder eggs are hollow chocolate eggs with a layer of white chocolate inside and a toy inside. In other words, pure joy in the mind of a child.

We're all soooooo glad to have Daddy back! Chris actually took pictures this time, so maybe I'll post some later.
